Closures Will Take Place South of Broad Ripple Ave.

INDIANAPOLIS – In conjunction with Indy DPW’s planned improvements along Broad Ripple Ave., Citizens Energy Group continues performing water and natural gas main relocation work along Broad Ripple Ave. and on side streets in the immediate area. During the week of May 2, the planned side-street schedule (barring weather delays) is as follows:

  • Carrollton Ave.
    • Closed just south of Broad Ripple Ave. from Monday, May 2 until the afternoon of Tuesday, May 3.
    • The sidewalk on the west side of Carrollton Ave. will be open, and the sidewalk on the east side will be closed.
    • A traffic officer will be in place during the closure to allow motorists to travel north on Carrollton from 62nd St. in order to access the parking lot on the southwest corner of 62nd St. and Carrollton Ave., the post office, and other nearby businesses.
  • Guilford Ave.
    • Closed just south of Broad Ripple Ave. from the afternoon of Tuesday, May 3 through the afternoon of Friday, May 6.

No segments of Carrollton Ave. or Guilford Ave. will be closed over the weekend. Local access will remain open. Street parking will be restricted where applicable, but parking lots will remain open. Motorists should exercise caution in work areas.

A similar side-street closure is planned to take place on the north segment of Guilford Ave. beginning the week of May 9. Information will be communicated via news release and directly to nearby businesses during the week of May 2.

In addition, the April 29 and May 2 closure of Winthrop Ave. that was announced in last week’s news release will not take place as planned.
