Closure Expected to Begin Tuesday, June 14 and Last Approximately Six Weeks

INDIANAPOLIS – As Citizens Energy Group continues to make progress on its DigIndy Tunnel System, upcoming construction will result in the closure of a portion of E. Pleasant Run Parkway S. Dr. between Spruce St. and the alley southwest of Cottage Ave. (see map). Work will begin on Tuesday, June 14 and is expected to last approximately six weeks.

The alley southwest of Cottage Ave. will remain open. Motorists should exercise caution and follow all posted signage in and around the detour area, which includes Shelby St., E. Pleasant Run Parkway N. Dr., and State Ave.

This work is a component of the Pleasant Run Tunnel project, which is part of the larger DigIndy Tunnel System. Once the 7.4-mile Pleasant Run Tunnel is complete in 2025, sewer overflows now going to Pleasant Run Creek will be redirected to the tunnel, creating a healthier, more vibrant waterway and community.

The open portions of the DigIndy Tunnel System already have prevented more than 3 billion gallons of sewage from entering our local waterways. The entire system will be complete in 2025. Learn more at www.DigIndyTunnel.com.
