System Outage

Due to planned system upgrades, customers will not be able to access our website or make payments at kiosks on December 10th and December 11th from 11:15 p.m. – 7:00 a.m. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

What to Do During Outage

Making In-Person Payments

Citizens offer more than 300 authorized cash payment sites including CVS, Family Dollar, and Casey’s General Store locations. Pick one that's right for you. Make your payment now, and it will post once the network services are restored. It’s quick and convenient – just bring a paper or electronic copy of your bill and go to any open checkout line. There are no additional service fees.

Requesting Financial Assistance

We want to make sure you are aware that Indy EAP is now accepting applications for the Energy Assistance Program (EAP) through the John Boner Neighborhood Centers. EAP provides assistance to qualified individuals and families for home heating bills.

If you are approved for EAP assistance, you will automatically receive a 10-25% discount on your natural gas bill through Citizens Energy Group’s Universal Service Program.

Additional programs and options are available through Indiana 2-1-1. Visit them online or simply dial 211.

In Case of Emergency

If You Smell Gas

Natural gas has an odor similar to rotten eggs so that even the smallest leaks can be detected. Follow these steps if you smell gas at your home or business:

  • Do not turn on any lights or use the telephone.
  • Ensure everyone leaves the home/building immediately. Use a telephone away from the building to call Citizens at (317) 924-3311.

Reporting Water Leaks and Water Emergencies
