Work Is Completed Before the Originally Projected Date of October 31

INDIANAPOLIS – Meridian Street will reopen at 28th Street at 3:00 p.m. today after being closed for work related to the DigIndy tunnel system that is being constructed to clean up Indianapolis’ waterways. Work in this area was accelerated to accommodate the Indianapolis Department of Public Works’ closure of the College Avenue Bridge.

Accomplishments of this project include the installation of two large sewers to capture and divert raw sewage to the Fall Creek Tunnel, a portion of the DigIndy Tunnel System to be complete by 2025. Sidewalks, curbs and pavement were also restored.
