Jonathan “J.P.” Ghio Will Lead Citizens’ Natural Gas and Thermal Operations
INDIANAPOLIS – Jonathan “J.P.” Ghio has joined Citizens Energy Group as Vice President, Energy Operations. He began his career with Pennsylvania-based UGI Utilities more than 25 years ago and transitioned to sister company UGI Energy Services in 2003.
As Vice President, Energy Operations, Ghio will oversee Citizens’ natural gas and thermal operations.
Ghio’s diverse background includes experience in gas supply optimization and hedging; engineering; and operations. Ghio has held such positions as Manager of Gas Supply, Vice President of Gas & Electric Supply and Vice President of Gas Supply & Customer Operations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Lehigh University and a Master of Business Administration degree from St. Joseph’s University.

Ghio succeeds Chris Braun, who retired as Vice President, Energy Operations on March 31. Throughout Braun’s 33-year career, he was instrumental in ensuring the utility’s delivery of safe, reliable and affordable natural gas and thermal services to the Indianapolis community.
