Text, Email or Phone Call Alerts Provided When Gas or Water Outages Occur
INDIANAPOLIS – Citizens Energy Group is now offering proactive alerts to customers whenever their natural gas or water service is interrupted.
All customers who register their account at CitizensEnergyGroup.com will automatically receive email alerts of planned or unplanned system outages. They may also choose to receive outage updates via SMS text message or a phone call. In some cases, outages occur due to an infrastructure failure, and other outages occur due to planned system improvements or maintenance.
Customers will only receive alerts if an outage is interrupting service to their residence or business. The alert will provide an estimated duration of the outage, which may be updated periodically. In addition, customers impacted by an outage will receive an alert when their service has been restored.
“We know natural gas and water system outages create a significant inconvenience for customers. That’s why we think it is important to alert customers about outages, including the possible duration. We see alerts as important to enhancing customer satisfaction,” said Jeff Ford, Director, Billing and Customer Services.
The outage alerts are periodically updated and are available through the Outage Map on Citizens Energy Group’s website.
In addition to outage alerts, customers automatically receive digital alerts concerning disconnect notices and the status of pending service orders. Customers can also sign up for helpful billing reminders including alerts when a new bill is available, a payment is due, a payment has been posted, or no payment has been received.
For more information on alerts and communications options, customers are encouraged to login to their online account, or set up an online account if they don't already have one. Message and data rates may apply.
