Closure Expected to Begin on Wednesday, December 28 and Last for 2.5 Months
INDIANAPOLIS – As Citizens Energy Group continues to make progress on its DigIndy Tunnel System, upcoming construction will require the closure of Southern Ave. between Allen Ave. and Shelby St. (see map). The closure is expected to last approximately 2.5 months. Local access will remain open. Motorists should exercise caution and follow all posted detour signage to avoid closure areas.
Completed portions of the DigIndy Tunnel System already have prevented more than 3 billion gallons of sewage from entering our local waterways. The entire system will be finished in 2025.
