The Near Eastside thoroughfare will close for up to four weeks, beginning on or after June 22.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Citizens Energy Group today announced the upcoming closure of E 10th Street (between N Hamilton and Eastern avenues), expected to begin on or after June 22. The closure, anticipated to last up to four weeks, will allow for sewer work ahead of the Near Eastside Streetscape project, planned by the Indianapolis Department of Public Works to begin later in 2026.

Signage will detour through-traffic from 10th Street south to Michigan Street, via N College Avenue and N Rural Street.

Local access will be maintained to homes and businesses within the work zone. Construction will not impact sewer service, but workers may be seen around sewer manholes.

Citizens has worked to communicate details about the closure to nearby residents and stakeholders.
