INDIANAPOLIS – Citizens Energy Group today announced construction work on the DigIndy Tunnel System infrastructure will require the closure of Keystone Avenue at its intersection with Pleasant Run Parkway N Drive, beginning on or after September 18, and expected to last about four weeks.

Access will be retained to local homes and properties via local streets. Signs will detour through traffic from Pleasant Run Parkway N Drive around the closure via Churchman Avenue and Prospect Street. Signs will detour through traffic from Keystone Avenue via State Avenue, redirecting motorists at Prospect and Raymond streets. The closure will also impact the Pleasant Run Trail; trail users can follow detour signage, utilizing local sidewalks and bike lanes along Prospect Street.

Citizens reminds travelers to heed all signage and to be especially careful when near an active construction zone. Citizens has communicated details of the construction project and the roadway restrictions to nearby property owners and stakeholders.

About the DigIndy Tunnel System
The DigIndy Tunnel System is a 28-mile network of 18-foot diameter deep rock tunnels being built 250 feet beneath the city. Along with other projects in the combined sewer system and at two advanced wastewater treatment plants, the $2 billion program is Indy’s solution to reducing combined sewer overflows into area waterways, keeping the utility and the City of Indianapolis in compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Now more than a decade in the making, completed portions of the DigIndy Tunnel System have prevented nearly 6 billion gallons of sewage from entering our local waterways. Construction will conclude and the entire system will be operational in 2025. Learn more about DigIndy online, and check out the 360 VR Tunnel Tour on YouTube.
