Work to Affect Meridian, Illinois, 16th and 11th Streets
INDIANAPOLIS – Citizens Energy Group will be performing sewer rehabilitation work at a number of locations along Meridian, Illinois, 16th and 11th Streets beginning on Monday, August 5.
Lane closures are necessary in order to complete the work safely. Full road closures are not expected. Access to businesses and parking lots will remain open at all times.
Work will be taking place in the following locations (all dates are tentative and subject to change):
- 16th & Meridian: Week of August 5
- 16th & Pierson: Mid-August
- 11th & Meridian: Mid-to-late-August
- 11th & Illinois: Early September
This work is part of a project to rehabilitate sewer lines that were installed as long ago as 1893. Improvements to these structures are necessary to maintain system performance and reliability in this area, and avoid sewer failures such as those that occurred downtown last summer.
