The intersection of Madison Avenue-Thompson Road will close on or after October 26; the intersection of 10th Street-Rural Street will close on or after November 2.
INDIANAPOLIS – Citizens Energy Group today announced the upcoming closure of the two thoroughfare intersections in the coming weeks for water distribution system improvements. Local access will be maintained to homes and businesses near the work zone at both locations, and Citizens has worked to communicate details about the closure to nearby residents and stakeholders.
Intersection of Madison Avenue and Thompson Road:
The intersection of Madison Avenue and Thompson Road is expected to begin on or after October 26 to allow for water main improvements. The closure is expected to continue for up to four weeks. Signage will detour north-south traffic around the closed intersection via S Keystone Avenue. East-west traffic will detour around the closure using E Edgewood Avenue.

Intersection of 10th Street and Rural Street:
The intersection of 10th and Rural streets is expected to begin on or after November 2, to allow for water main relocations required by a streetscape project being completed by the Indianapolis Department of Public Works. The utility relocation portion of this effort will require the intersection's closure for about four weeks. Signage will detour north-south traffic around the closed intersection via N Sherman Drive. East-west traffic will detour around the closure using Michigan Street.
