Closures Just North and Just South of Broad Ripple Ave. Expected to Last Three Days Each

INDIANAPOLIS – In conjunction with Indy DPW’s planned improvements along Broad Ripple Ave., Citizens Energy Group continues performing water and natural gas main relocation work along Broad Ripple Ave. and on side streets in the immediate area. During the week of April 25, three-day closures of Winthrop Ave. are planned just north and just south of Broad Ripple Ave.

Winthrop Ave. just south of Broad Ripple Ave. is expected to be closed from Tuesday, April 26 to the afternoon of Thursday, April 28. Winthrop Ave. just north of Broad Ripple Ave. is expected to be closed on Thursday, April 28 (after the work on the south segment of Winthrop Ave. is complete), Friday, April 29, and Monday, May 2. No segment of Winthrop will be closed over the weekend.

If work on the south segment of Winthrop Ave. is completed in two days rather than three, work on the north segment will begin early. Neither closure is expected to last more than three days.

Local access will remain open. Street parking on Winthrop Ave. will be restricted where applicable, but parking lots will remain open. This construction will require some temporary service disruptions. Impacted properties will be notified by door tag a minimum of 24 hours prior to the outage. Motorists should exercise caution in work areas.

Similar side-street closures are planned to take place on Guilford Ave. and Carrollton Ave. in the coming weeks. Information will be communicated via news release and directly to nearby businesses as those closures get closer.
