INDIANAPOLIS – Citizens Energy Group has completed its sewer rehabilitation work and reopened Ritter Ave.

Now that Ritter has reopened, the E. Pleasant Run Parkway S. Dr. closure has shifted and will remain in place through December 31, 2021 from just east of Ritter Ave. to Arlington Ave. (see map). Citizens accelerated this work to minimize future disruption in the area. Traffic will continue to be detoured using 10th Street, E. Washington St., Emerson Ave., and N. Arlington Ave. Local access will remain open. Commuters should exercise caution and follow all posted detour signage.

As a reminder, site preparation for the Pleasant Run Tunnel segment of the DigIndy Tunnel System began in September within the southeast quadrant of Ellenberger Park (athletic fields). This area will be closed until 2025.

Once the 7.4-mile Pleasant Run Tunnel is complete in 2025, sewer overflows now going to Pleasant Run Creek will be redirected to the tunnel, creating a healthier, more vibrant waterway and community.

We know construction is never without its challenges, and we greatly appreciate your patience. For more information on this particular project, visit www.DigIndyTunnel.com/PleasantRun. For more information on all of Citizens’ construction projects, visit www.CitizensEnergyGroup.com/Construction
