Citizens Energy Group announced in mid-January that Sherry D. Davis joined its nine-member Board of Directors.
Selected by the Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors exclusively manages and oversees the operation of the organization. The Board establishes ongoing business strategy consistent with its fiduciary duties and responsibilities to the beneficiaries.
As the newest member of the Board of Directors, Davis replaces Joseph Whitsett, who served on the Board for seven years.

Evans, Jr. “Ms. Davis brings valuable financial and community experience to the Board. I also would like to thank Joseph Whitsett for his dedicated service to Citizens over the past seven years.”
Davis is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Lilly USA, Eli Lilly and Company’s largest affiliate. As CFO of the USA, she has enhanced U.S. government policy evaluation and has contributed to key transformation initiatives of Lilly USA commercial capabilities. During her 13 years at Lilly, Davis has held various international and domestic roles in the finance organization and has also been a key leader in Lilly’s efforts to advance diversity and inclusion, serving on the executive advisory board of the African-American Network.
Most recently, Davis was the CFO and Treasurer of Lilly Del Caribe Manufacturing site in Puerto Rico. While in this role, Davis helped lead the site through the aftermath of Hurricane Maria, the greatest natural disaster in the island’s history. Prior to that, she was the CFO for Lilly’s Research organization, managing Lilly’s early-phase portfolio investments. Her other Lilly roles have included serving as a director in Corporate Audit Services and the financial leader of the Access Expansion team, which focused on extending the reach of Lilly’s medicines in developing countries. She also had a short-term assignment in Johannesburg, South Africa, managing financial planning for Lilly’s South Africa and Sub-Saharan affiliate.
Prior to joining Lilly, Davis worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and in the accounting department of Ford Motor Company. Davis is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and maintains an active license in Indiana. She attended Indianapolis Public Schools, graduating from Arsenal Technical High School. Davis earned degrees in Accounting and Finance from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in Bloomington, IN.
