Sara Flores is joining the Verve Health team alongside your Wellness Coordinator, Melissa Hehmann.
A Message from Sara:Hi there! My name is Sara, and I am excited to join the team as your new health coach! While we sometimes think of health as defined by someone's weight or how many veggies they eat a day, I believe that health is a combination of all aspects of life. Emotional and physical, work and home life, our relationships with others and with ourselves, and all other areas that make you, YOU. My role is to support you in creating and/or achieving any of your health goals that will allow you to meet your responsibilities with greater ease and enjoy your life as you deserve to enjoy it!
I’m looking forward to stepping alongside you in your health journey, and am available Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays for sessions! To schedule a session email me at sflores@citizensenergygroup.com.
Health Coaching FAQs
What does a health coach do?
My role is to support you in creating and/or achieving any of your health goals that will allow you to meet your responsibilities with greater ease and enjoy your life as you deserve to enjoy it! While we sometimes think of health as defined by someone's weight or how many veggies they eat a day, health is a combination of all aspects of life. Emotional and physical, work and home life, our relationships with others and with ourselves, and all other areas that make you, YOU.
What does a health coach NOT do?
A health coach is not a doctor, dietitian or nutritionist, psychologist or other licensed or registered professional, and that any advice given is not meant to take the place of advice by these professionals. This means I cannot prescribe medication, diets or treatment, provide a medical diagnosis, treat or cure any disease, condition or other physical or mental ailment of the human body. Rather, my role is as a supporter and guide who has been trained in integrative health coaching to help participants reach their own health goals by helping you devise and implement positive, sustainable lifestyle changes.
What happens in a session?
Sessions are 30 minutes and can be a phone call or Teams meeting. During the first session we will go over confidentiality and any questions and/or concerns you might want to address before we start working together. Then, we discuss what you want to change about your current situation, how it relates to your health, what goal(s) you want to set for yourself and how to start taking steps towards your desired change(s). My role is to help you make each step specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely.
What do you mean by confidentiality?
Everything discussed in coaching sessions is private and stays between me and you, with a few exceptions: information regarding abuse or neglect of a minor or endangered adult (18+ with disabilities or elderly adult), may need to be reported. Notes may be taken for my own memory’s sake, but no reports are made to other entities. The only people with access to said notes are Melissa Hehmann and myself, your coaches here at Citizens.
