Construction begins on water main segment in Boone County; future project timelines will be updated on program webpage.
INDIANAPOLIS -- Citizens Energy Group will begin construction on a new segment of water main as part of the Citizens‑Lebanon Water Supply Program (CLWSP), continuing the long-term effort to strengthen regional water supply and benefit drinking water customers throughout the Central Indiana region.
Beginning on or after May 18, work will begin to extend water main infrastructure along East 750 South in Boone County, between County Roads North 600 East and 475 East. Anticipated to be completed within the next three months, work is expected to require temporary lane restrictions during construction. Access to homes and businesses will be maintained, and Citizens has directly communicated project details to impacted homeowners.

Other projects within the CLWSP are also in planning, in design, or currently under construction. Citizens has revamped its dedicated program webpage to include a section for more specific construction information, to be updated as various projects move into the construction phase in the future.
Citizens has hosted nine public information open house sessions thus far in 2026 for residents to ask questions in person about the program. The next open house will be held on Thursday, June 4.
With the CLWSP, Citizens Energy Group is completing the water-supply component of a regional effort to provide greater utility capacity to the City of Lebanon, who will become the ninth wholesale water customer of Citizens, at no cost to Citizens water customers. Lebanon Utilities, the city’s municipal utility agency, is separately leading a program to manage wastewater treatment.
