Meter Route Analysis – Project leader: Melissa Lawson, Director Shared Field Services. Team members: Dennis Claffey, Manager Performance Assurance; George Reners, Manager Meter Services; and Angel Brauss, Supervisor AMR and Meter Shop.
Lawson and her team developed a process for improving meter reading routes and strategically placing water meters equipped with electronic reading transmitters (ERTs) on high-risk routes. At the time of project completion, 2,496 ERTs were strategically placed, 70 meter-reading routes were changed, touchpads were eliminated on 24 routes, and there was a measured reduction in forced completes.
Recently Completed Just Do It Projects
A Just Do It project is a great way to continuously improve something where the solution is already known. The project doesn’t necessarily have to be quick or simple; it just doesn't need to go through the DMAIC process. Just Do It projects can still make a big impact on efficiency and savings. All completed Just Do It projects can be found on Quality’s CI Activities and Completed Projects page on iTrust.
