On June 12, a high voltage AES power line in downtown Indianapolis was damaged, leading to highly unusual cascading events resulting in a partial steam system outage and distribution system leak.

In April, Indiana announced an expansion of the Indiana Small Business Restart Grant to help accelerate economic recovery activity by supporting Hoosier entrepreneurs and small businesses. The program provides working capital to eligible companies by reimbursing certain expenses incurred during and related to the global pandemic.

Citizens Energy Group announced in mid-January that Sherry D. Davis joined its nine-member Board of Directors. Selected by the Board of Trustees, the Board of Directors exclusively manages and oversees the operation of the organization. The Board establishes ongoing business strategy consistent with its fiduciary duties and responsibilities to the beneficiaries. As the newest member of the Board of Directors, Davis replaces Joseph Whitsett, who served on the Board for seven years.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) is expanding a program to help small businesses recover from the pandemic. Through the Indiana Small Business Restart Grant program, eligible small businesses can apply for funding to reimburse payroll expenses; insurance premiums; rent, lease, and mortgage payments; utilities; and safety investments incurred from March 2020 through May 1, 2021.
