Citizens Energy Group is offering FREE Yoga in May as part of Mental Health Awareness Month.
Virtual sessions are offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30am - 12:30pm.
There will also be an ONSITE class on Tuesday, May 20th at the General Office from 11:30am-12:30pm - you can also join virtually.
Benefits of Yoga for Mental Health
- Release helpful brain chemicals. Most exercise triggers the release of "feel-good" chemicals in the brain.
- Reduce stress. When Americans answered a survey about why they practiced yoga, 86% of them said that it helped to deal with stress.
- Improve sleep. Research suggests that yoga can improve sleep.
- Enhance social life. If you attend an in-person yoga class, you may benefit from interacting with others in your group.
- Promote other healthy habits. If you practice yoga, you may be more likely to choose more wholesome foods.
