The annual White River Cleanup took place on Saturday, April 13 and was a resounding success, with roughly 200 volunteers collecting 28 tons of trash over the course of three hours.
The cleanup was sponsored by Friends of the White River with support from nearly 20 local companies, including Citizens Energy Group.
“Now in its 31st year, the White River Cleanup plays as important a role as ever in our efforts to sustain the long-term viability of the river as a unique natural resource of Indiana now and for future generations,” said Friends of the White River Executive Director Kevin Hardie. “We appreciate Citizens’ partnership and are grateful to the volunteers who made the cleanup happen.”
