We are dedicated to delivering safe, reliable utility services to our customers and providing a safe work environment for our employees. We also are focused on continuous improvement as an organization. As such, the Health, Safety & Security department seeks opportunities to continuously enhance safety.

Jerome Mayden joined Citizens Energy Group in July 2011 as a team member in the contact center. Today, as a safety specialist supporting Shared Field Services and Corporate Support Services, Jerome provides CPR and safety training and accident/injury support.

At the 81st annual Quarter Century Club reception, 19 Citizens Energy Group employees were honored for their years of service to the utility. The following individuals were inducted into this prestigious club on the evening of May 23 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, in recognition of their 25 years of dedication to Citizens and its customers: Vincent Brady, Michael Butler, Vanessa Cook, Gary Franklin, Scott Herbertz, Randall Higginbotham, Tony Keen, Dale Koch, Anthony Linville, John Marcum, Mark Morgan, Frank Neil, Kenneth Sanders, Warren Smith, Joseph Stone, Mark Umphress, Jeremiah Ward, Jeffrey Watson, and Daniel Wyatt.

Matt Anderson, Utility Service Specialist, Customer Support Services, has been named Customer Champion for going above and beyond to ensure customer and public safety.

Earth Day at the J – April 23 JCC Indianapolis and the Max and Mae Simon Jewish Community Campus welcomed members of the community on Sunday, April 23 to learn from organizations that share the common goal of protecting the earth and its resources. Citizens volunteers attended the event and educated attendees about the DigIndy Tunnel System and water conservation.

Factoring in energy efficiency measures can help you make informed decisions to meet your energy needs.

Citizens Energy Group has approximately 62,000 manholes throughout the collection system. Citizens conducts inspections of these assets to identify, understand, and address system needs, especially for those assets nearing the end of their useful life. Inspections are completed via a handheld device, often a smartphone, to populate a digital inspection report and take images of the structure.

Fishers High School’s motto it “Have Pride, Show Character, Build Tradition,” and that motto shined brightly on April 28 when more than 4,000 students and staff took a break from their regularly scheduled classes and spent their day making the community a better place during their inaugural Day of Service. One of their projects came with a big public safety impact.

What is a Gemba Walk? Going to the Gemba, also known as “the real place” where work is done, is an important component of a Lean organization. A Gemba Walk allows leaders to “go and see” processes personally, with the people doing the work, so they can understand and ask questions. This fosters a collaborative environment in which to discover problems or wastes and develop action plans to correct them.

Two employees who recently went above and beyond to provide high levels of service to our customers were recognized on May 11 at Visit Indy’s annual ROSE Awards, presented by Citizens Energy Group.
