With racial unrest sweeping our nation, including in our own city, Citizens Energy Group is working to advance our core value of diversity through enhanced communications and training efforts.

Over the past several weeks, you have heard me speak about the unrest and anger in our nation and the loss of hope following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis, and many more incidents before that. We must find our way to peace and respect, and above all, truly live out our core value of diversity that we follow here at Citizens Energy Group. That means zero tolerance for not respecting others.

Each employee plays a significant role in the success of diversity and inclusion initiatives at Citizens. It is our responsibility to ensure that we are informed and have open dialogue with one another, as we all bring a lifetime of experiences that add value to the organization.

Citizens Energy Group employees were recognized last month with a One in a Million Award from Multiplying Good (previously known as the Jefferson Awards Foundation).

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Citizens Energy Group will not host an in-person Quarter Century Club induction ceremony this year. In lieu of an event, we will honor our 2020 inductees in a special section of the September issue of Engauge.

Several employees recently completed training on the use of Continuous Improvement tools and documentation and completed projects to receive certification.

The June 2020 issue of Engauge included a list of employees’ lost loved ones due to the coronavirus. Evelyn J. Moore was listed as the mother of Tamara White, Customer Support Specialist. Evelyn was also the sister of Linda Randle, Customer Support Associate.

Citizens Energy Group recently participated in the 2020 Best Places to Work survey. Although Citizens did not make the list for Indiana, there was improvement in all categories compared to the results from the survey conducted in 2018. Below is a summary of the survey results.

Due to the pandemic and restrictions on in-person events, Citizens’ annual United Way employee giving campaign week will look different this year. Instead of hosting activities such as a picnic and carnival, the United Way Team will be providing employees with online opportunities for supporting their favorite non-profit organizations and the Central Indiana community.
