President & CEO Jeffrey Harrison has announced a new Flex Work pilot program designed to help Citizens achieve its strategic goal of becoming an employer of choice in Central Indiana.

“As we reach the mid-point of our fiscal year, we all recognize the pandemic has caused businesses across America to rethink their current work environments. Here at Citizens, we formed a team to design a Flex Work pilot program that provides flexible work opportunities for employees able to do so, without disrupting the Trust’s Vision, Mission, Values, business objectives and focus on culture,” said Harrison.

Jodi Whitney, Vice President, Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer, said the program will “support One Company, One Culture and our strategic goal under the Employee Engagement Pillar to become an employer of choice in Central Indiana.”

Whitney added, “Increasingly, employees across the country rank flexible work schedules as an important component of employee satisfaction. Flex Work will help Citizens attract and retain talented employees.”

In the weeks ahead, Citizens’ management team will roll out the details of the Flex Work pilot program including employee eligibility, which will be based on a number of factors including performance, productivity, and the ability to achieve departmental and trust-wide Strategic goals.

Each Department Headusing guidance from HR, will have the flexibility to administer the program as needed, to ensure their work group and customer needs continue to be met while maintaining Citizens’ commitments to the community.

It was previously announced that most employees would return to their regular work locations by May 3.  With the expanding availability of the COVID-19 vaccine, and the implementation of the Flex Work pilot program, management has determined that it would be best to have the new work environment transition begin on July 6.

As Citizens implements Flex Work, we will continue COVID-19 preventative best practices as indicated by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control as well as state and local guidance including social distancing, frequent hand washing, and wearing of face coverings.
