Citizens Energy Group served as the title sponsor of the 54th Annual Fire, Police & Deputy Sheriff’s Community Recognition Luncheon on April 19, continuing a tradition first established by the Indianapolis Water Company in 1968.
Thirty-five local public safety professionals were recognized with awards for their dedication and service to Central Indiana throughout 2021.
Citizens also sponsored the Firefighter of the Year Award, which was presented by Jeff Brown, Director, Brand Development, to Lieutenant Thomas Albrecht. As a 33-year veteran, Albrecht was recognized for the knowledge, exemplary leadership, and work ethic he brings to the Indianapolis Fire Department.
More than 40 other local businesses and organizations sponsored the awards ceremony.
Citizens President and CEO Jeffrey Harrison welcomed guests to the event. He was joined in recognizing the honorees by Indianapolis Deputy Mayor for Neighborhood Engagement Judith Thomas, Indianapolis Fire Department Chief Ernest Malone, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Chief Randal Taylor, and Marion County Sheriff Kerry Forestal.
Citizens Energy Group’s involvement in this event also includes logistics planning, scriptwriting, and graphic design support. Special thanks go to Jennifer Mentink, Mandy Saucerman, and Wayne Stohs for their work on these elements of the luncheon.
