Citizens Energy Group was one of 15 companies recently recognized as a top community investor by United Way of Central Indiana.
Top investors are honored for their commitment to making a financial impact on the community through support of United Way.
While Citizens’ United Way Team typically plans a golf outing and a week of fundraising activities such as a picnic and carnival, plans were shifted to online events in 2020 due to the pandemic. Employees raised funds through an online auction and Bingo games and a virtual golf outing. In addition, 301 employees made individual donations to support the work of non-profit organizations.
“United Way’s corporate supporters and donors went above and beyond to lead their organizations in creative ways during a year of unprecedented challenge,” said Ann Murtlow, President and CEO of United Way of Central Indiana. “On behalf of our entire team, we cannot thank them enough for their generous spirit and thoughtful determination to help our community rebound and recover from the pandemic. We are proud to call them champions of United Way and celebrate their contributions.”
