For the second consecutive year, Citizens Energy Group employees paddled down the White River as team “River Crews” during the Dragon Boat Race at the annual White River Festival.
The event, held this year on September 28, serves as an annual fundraiser for the White River Alliance, which exists to help protect and improve water resources. Dragon boat racing originated over 2,000 years ago in China. The vessels are 46 feet long and propelled by a crew of 16-20 paddlers, a drummer (to keep the pace), and a steerer who guides the craft.
