CSA Performance Influences Employee Engagement

The Great Reshuffle has challenged organizations across the nation to consider their employee engagement and experience, and Citizens Energy Group is no different. However, we have made an investment to help our managers and employees develop the skills and competencies necessary to meet the needs of the Trust: CSA Performance.

The 2022 Mid-Year Assessment process was the first test of CSA Performance’s ease of use. The system was well received by employees and managers alike. The review process was easy to complete and encouraged conversations around employee goal achievement and skill development.

Melissa Lawson, Director, Shared Field Services, said, “The CSA Performance Mid-Year Assessment provided a streamlined documentation process that allowed for more time spent discussing the progress toward achievement of goals and development of skills.”

An upcoming expansion of CSA Performance features will provide the Trust with a more holistic performance management system. On August 1, new CSA Performance features will be launched to enhance our employee experience. The Check-Ins feature facilitates focused conversations between managers and employees, with the opportunity to discuss progress and challenges the employee may be facing. The Impressions feature enables employees to impart feedback cross-functionally, recognizing coworkers for a job well done and modeling desired behaviors.

In January, the Skills Development portlet will encourage employees to own their skill development and allow managers to monitor and give feedback regarding employee growth. Skills Development also will be tied to learning content to further enhance employee development.

“The Art of Engagement,” written by Jim Haudan, tells us employees want to be a part of something bigger than themselves, feel a sense of belonging, go on a meaningful journey, and know their contributions make a significant difference in the lives of others. CSA – now with goal achievement, skill development, peer feedback, and learning opportunities – gives Citizens another tool to cultivate these roots.
