Employee Engagement Focus of Diversity and Inclusion Plan

The Strategic Plan for Diversity and Inclusion, which outlines action items for employee engagement, has recently been updated by the cross-functional Diversity and Inclusion Team.

With diversity as one of Citizens’ core values, the 2019-2021 Strategic Plan for Diversity and Inclusion includes these three goals:

  • Enhance workforce diversity: Develop strategic hiring initiatives to attract diverse applicants while promoting development tools to retain top talent.
  • Promote inclusion and engagement: Provide information, resources and activities that help drive employee inclusion and engagement across the Trust.
  • Heighten the value of diversity in our culture: Build a welcoming culture for all employees where diversity and inclusion strategies have the highest potential for success.

The strategies and measurable action steps in the plan are designed to help Citizens meet its long-term goals of becoming an employer of choice and improving employee development opportunities.

Training is one tactical component of the plan that will assist us in sustaining an inclusive, respectful and productive workplace. All employees can look forward to participating in a Trust-wide training program entitled “Open Minds Transform Organizations” in FY2019.
