HEALTHY CITIZENS: Citizens Recognized for Workplace Health

Citizens Energy Group recently received two awards for workplace health. Also, find out which employees won the Healthy Holidays wellness challenge, who our most recent Wellness Champions are, and when you can attend the next healthy cooking demonstration.

Citizens Energy Group was among fourteen Indiana companies recognized by the American Heart Association in 2019 for taking significant steps to build a culture of health in the workplace.

Citizens earned a silver award in the Workplace Health Achievement Index, which uses science-based best practices to evaluate the overall quality and comprehensiveness of workplace health programs.

Citizens also was a finalist in our size category (500-1499 employees) for the 2019 Healthiest Employers of Indiana Awards. This awards program showcases companies that invest in innovative strategies for employee wellness.

 

Wellness Champions

Hewson, Toni 8036November: Toni Hewson was named the Wellness Champion for November. She practices intermittent fasting and has cut out processed foods as well as sugar-sweetened beverages. Toni has upped her vegetable intake and makes sure to eat a lean protein at each meal. She has lost 20 pounds and five inches around her waist by being consistent with these changes. Congratulations, Toni!

 

 

 

Berg, Nathaniel 8670December: Congratulations Nathaniel Berg on being the December Wellness Champion. Nathan is very active; he plays semi-pro sand volleyball and he promotes an active lifestyle through being the assistant coach for both boys and girls Club Volleyball Leagues. Most weekends he is either playing a tournament or coaching a tournament. In the event he is free, he will camp or travel.

 

 

 

2020 Blood Pressure Checks

Healthy Holidays Challenge Winners

Several employees participated in the Healthy Holidays wellness challenge, from mid-November through early January. First, second and third place winners received Visa gift cards ($150, $100, and $75, respectively). The winners stayed within three pounds of their weigh-in weight and earned the most points for completing activities such as exercising and attending cooking demonstrations, wellness demonstrations, and coaching sessions. Congratulations to:
