This month's wellness news includes the October Wellness Champion, Step into Shape challenge winners, information about the next blood drive, numerous upcoming cooking demonstrations, the Healthy Holidays wellness challenge, and more!

 

Wellness Champion

Congratulations Dale Koch on being named October’s Wellness Champion! Over the last few months, he has changed his diet and increased his activity. He has lost about 20 pounds from his efforts. Way to go!

 

Step into Shape Winners

Several employees participated in a nine-week wellness challenge aimed at decreasing body fat percentage. Winners were determined by percent body fat lost and points earned for activities such as exercising and attending healthy cooking demonstrations. Congratulations to the winners!

1st Place: Jessica Small - $100 Visa gift card

2nd Place: Jada Buchanan - $75 Visa gift card

3rd Place: Marcia Stinson - $50 Visa gift card

 

Next Blood Drive is November 20

Citizens Energy Group will host a blood drive on Wednesday, November 20, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. in the General Office Auditorium. Donors must be 17 years old (16 with signed parent permission slip), be in good general health, and present a photo I.D. at registration. Not sure if you are eligible? Healthy Holidays Wellness Challenge

The next wellness challenge begins November 13. The goal of the "Healthy Holidays" challenge is to maintain your current weight through the holiday season and earn wellness points for activities such as exercising, attending cooking demonstrations, keeping a food journal, and more. The entry fee is $5 payroll deduction. Prizes are Visa gifts cards in the amount of $150 (1st place), $100 (2nd place), and $75 (3rd place). Find all the details on iTrust.

Savor the season by learning to be more mindful while eating. This 30-minute class isn’t about what to eat or not to eat, but rather is focused on how to eat so you can indulge in holiday favorites without guilt or weight gain. Employees Raise Funds for Heart Association

Along with Wellness Coordinator Sara Pickett, Citizens employees Chris Kehl, Keith Legge, Marcia Mitchell, and Jessica Small raised $5,264 for the Heart Walk, exceeding their goal of $5,000. The annual event, held this year on Saturday, September 21, is organized by the American Heart Association. Funds raised in support of the event help fight heart disease and stroke.
