Nearly 200 individuals attended the inaugural Warm Heart Warm Home (WHWH) Foundation™ Fundraiser and Topgolf Tournament on Wednesday, November 20.
The WHWH Foundation Board of Directors set a five-year goal to increase annual contributions to the foundation to more than $1 million. To help meet this objective, the board chose to organize a fundraising tournament at Topgolf, an indoor driving range and event venue.
Participants earned points by hitting micro-chipped golf balls into various targets. Awards were given for first, second, and third place teams. Attendees also had the opportunity to purchase tickets for chances to win prizes.
“All the monies raised will go directly to help families in our service territory stay in their homes,” said Greg Sawyers, Director, Customer Relationships and President of the WHWH Foundation Board of Directors. “We will be able to help over 4,000 families who have to make difficult choices or have an unexpected emergency, due to a faulty major appliance or broken pipe, and have nowhere else to turn.”
Due to the success of the event, the foundation’s board plans to host the tournament annually.
The board would like to give a special thanks to Food and Beverage Sponsor Midwest Mole, Inc., and Hole-in-One Sponsor Laura Kopetsky Tri-Ax for their generous support.
