An updated CitizensEnergyGroup.com is coming soon!
The new external website will replace the current version, which was created in 2014, and will feature new design elements, updated navigation, and dynamic content for an enhanced user experience.
The User Experience department is leading the project, which began with a usability audit of the current site conducted by ForeSee, our customer research firm. The team then developed a new navigation structure and site prototypes based on the audit findings, along with its own analysis of data from ForeSee surveys, customer verbatims, and Google Analytics reporting.
“Our current site continues to score highly with customers on ForeSee, sometimes leading the category benchmark which includes utilities like AT&T, Constellation Energy, Exelon, TXU Energy, and UGI Utilities,” said John Meehan, Manager of User Experience. “And while we’ve made improvements over the last few years, we didn’t want to become complacent in continuously improving our online experience.”
Revised templates were submitted for an ADA compliance audit, resulting in changes to text size, coloration, and background contrast to ensure readability.
All of this research shaped development of the new site, which involved the creation or revision of more than 350 pages. The new site was tested by internal and external focus groups.
“Obviously, this is a big project and would not be possible without help from the IT, Corporate Affairs, and Performance Assurance areas. But two people in particular deserve recognition: Jim McLaughlin, User Experience Designer, and Brian Maki, Software Engineer III,” Meehan said.
