What are your job responsibilities as an Instrument and Electrical Supervisor?
I am responsible for maintaining several pieces of equipment, including environmental monitoring equipment, power generators, boiler control systems, computers, and network systems at the Perry K plant. I oversee breaker control and synchronization, motor repairs, testing and calibration of various types of equipment. I also ensure we meet safety protection control requirements for the boilers, which are the heart of the plant.
Why is instrument and electrical control vital at Citizens?
The instrument and electrical control group helps keep the plant operation safe and reliable, which is essential for delivering steam to our customers and protecting the community, the people that work at Perry K, and the equipment. What is a typical day like?
As a supervisor, a typical day includes opening and assigning work orders and completing various administrative tasks, resolving operational issues by moving direct reports from job to job, and coordinating with outside contractors.
What do you like best about your job?
The best part of my job it that it is dynamic. There is a different challenge each day. Also, the people I work with are like family to me. Citizens is a great place to work with good benefits.
What did you do before coming to Citizens?
I worked in the instrument and electrical control area at IPL.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I enjoy helping the elderly, spending time with my grandkids, repairing computers, appliances, and cars, and participating in church ministries, such as teaching Sunday school. I also like to shop at pawn shops.

My wife, Penny, and I are the proud parents of seven children, Omar, Melissa, Sir, Alexandria, Andra, Adrianna, and Ashley, and have six grandchildren.
