Yellow Belt
Due Diligence Acquisition Process
• Project Leader: Mike Allen (Legal)
• Team Members: Lauren Toppen, Alex Valle, Ed Bukovac, Mike Bartone, Ben Warren, Korlon Kilpatrick, Sara Mamuska-Morris, Phil Zbojiniewicz
• Mike Allen's project developed and documented a due diligence process that decreases the organization's exposure to transaction risk, including maximizing leverage with counterparties and improving ability to take advantage of contractual protections that mitigate risks and issues identified during due diligence. The due diligence process focuses on due diligence activities to be conducted after senior management has approved pursuing a transaction.
Chlorine Analyzer Maintenance
• Project Leader: Sean Campbell (Water Production/Water Quality and
Planning)
• Sean Campbell’s project developed and documented a process to track parts and maintenance of online chlorine analyzers.
Leak Repair and Lead Service Line Coordination
• Project Leader: Jarrett O’Neill (Water Distribution)
• Team Members: Jamie Schultz, Jared New, Mike Ellliott, Tom Tuttle, Phil Meehan, Bill Adams, Samantha Neese, Sarah MacKay, Cassie Miller, Eli Stock, Jacob Goodin, Justin Sipe
• Jarrett O’Neill’s project created a process to eliminate multiple trips, phone calls, and/or emails regarding a lead leaking service by developing a SharePoint form to issue lead service replacements to Capital Projects.
White River WTP Safety Supply Cabinets
• Project Leader: Colin Hall (Water Production)
• Colin Hall’s project developed an efficient and accurate method for tracking and monitoring inventory in safety supply stations.
Advanced Yellow Belt
Chemical Feed Line Identification and Labeling
• Project Leader: Greg Thompson (Water Production)
• Team Members: Collin Hall, Derek Pruett, Harry Harris, Douglas Buffington II, Larry Cox, Bryon Weiss, Rob Cross, Keegan Ferguson, Logan Anglin, Jarrett Helton, Derrick Vaughn, Tony Harvey, Josh McGinn, Dan Eoff, Joe Bell, Mike Jones
• Greg Thompson’s project standardized and implemented an identification and labeling process that will give plant operations personnel the ability to quickly identify what material is in a chemical feed, process sample, or decommissioned pipe.
Gas Use Data Entry
• Project Leader: Richard Hedge (Wastewater Operations)
• Team Members: Pam Wolsiefer-Leak, Ted Folck, Tim Perez, Jason Burton, Henry Davis, Chris Kennedy, Don Hughes, Jason Young
• Richard Hedge’s project created input controls in HachWIMS to prevent data errors and flag the user when too many digits and/or an entry lower than a previous reading are entered. Gas meters were also hooked up to SCADA. This configuration automatically imports data into the HachWIMS database so operators don’t have to read the meters and Master Control Operators don’t have to enter the data.
T.W. Moses
• Project Leader: Doug Payton (Water Production)
• Team Members: Tony Isenberger, Chris Barron, Greg Thompson, Don Plummer
• Doug Payton’s project created a standardized training program for T.W. Moses Plant Operators to ensure they are properly trained. Training includes site specific-knowledge, tracking, expectations, and an outlined schedule to ensure the plant is operated in accordance with all federal, state, and internal regulations and standards.
Recently Completed Just Do It Projects
Just Do It projects are a great way to continuously improve something where the solution is already known. This doesn't mean it necessarily has to be a quick or simple project; it just doesn't go through the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control (DMAIC) process. But Just Do It projects can make a big impact in efficiency and savings. All completed Just Do It projects can be found on Quality’s CI Activities and Completed Projects page.
