The Employee Communications Team would like to thank the more than 400 employees who took the Internal Communications Effectiveness survey earlier this spring. The team is pleased to provide a summary of the results.

  • About 35 percent of employees responded to the survey.
  • Seventy-three percent of respondents felt company-wide communications are improving.
  • Employees appreciate the variety of methods used to communicate. The most effective mediums are 1.) Manager/Supervisor, 2.) Corporate emails, 3.) iTrust, and 4.) Engauge.
  • Direct communication from supervisors and upper management is important to employees.
  • Employees recognize the value of interpersonal communication and see some opportunity for improvement.
  • At the July Leadership Forum, the results were shared with managers and supervisors, who were encouraged to continue sharing information from Leadership Forum and State of the Trust events, increase the amount of face-to-face communication with employees, attend corporate events to increase their visibility, and leverage the Employee Communications Team members as ambassadors for sharing information.
  • The Employee Communications Team will update the internal communication strategic plan and implementation timeline based on survey results.
