Safety Tip: Whether or not we like it, with spring comes yard work. Here are some precautions to keep you safe:
- Protect your eyes from items thrown from lawn mowers and string trimmers with attractive, comfortable and inexpensive safety glasses from local hardware or home-improvement stores
- Wear shoes or boots (no sandals) when mowing, trimming or using a pressure washer
- Make sure ladders are on level, firm ground, ensure they extend 3 feet above the roof if you plan to get off the ladder, and keep your belly button between the rails (no leaning or stretching off to the side)
- Wear gloves, as your hands may have gotten tender over the winter and blisters can develop quickly
- Don’t forget to stop and smell the roses!
