Citizens hosted its first ever hiring events last month, focusing on the recruitment of part-time meter readers and customer support associates. Citizens held two onsite events at the Corporate Office on Wednesday, September 9 and Saturday, September 11. Candidates were interviewed, offered positions, and completed preemployment testing onsite to expedite the hiring process. We had 163 participants attend the events and extended offers to 123 candidates.
Coordinating the hiring events was a cross-functional team effort and a true example of our One Company, One Culture initiative.
“Everyone involved understood how imperative it was to host this event,” said Mark Bender, Director, Human Resources. “We know the job market is very competitive right now. We appreciate the hard work of our employees in Human Resources, Corporate Affairs, Safety and Security, Facilities, Meter Reading, and Customer Services who played a role in the success of these events.”
Candidates began lining up 30 minutes before the events started. When asked, many candidates said Citizens’ reputation in the community and the stability that our company offers were factors that led them to attend a hiring event.
