Former Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy visited with Citizens Energy Group’s Ben Warren, Director Gas Transmission and Distribution, and other community leaders at Junior Achievement’s (JA) BizTown last month.
Citizens was one of four sponsoring organizations invited to attend this event and share why the company supports JA’s BizTown, an experience that allows fifth graders to “become an adult for a day” and learn about the cost of living and financial literacy.
During a group tour of the facility, Warren discussed how Citizens’ vision to serve our communities ties into BizTown’s purpose of empowering young people to own their future success. Warren has been involved in maintaining Citizens’ BizTown shop, where students can learn more about careers in the utility industry and try on uniform pieces such as hard hats and safety vests.
“The BizTown program teaches important skills to our future workforce,” said Warren. “I am proud to be a Citizens employee and I am honored anytime I get the opportunity to share more about Citizens and represent our company within the community.”
Dungy, author of multiple books on leadership, shared with the sponsor representatives and Junior Achievement leaders his thoughts about how their collective talents, skills and strengths can be leveraged to lay the foundation for the future.
