Community Celebrates Opening of Rock Ramp

Citizens Energy Group celebrated the completion of the White River Rock Ramp alongside the City of Indianapolis and the Riverside community on Monday, May 23. The rock ramp ensures water supply for Citizens’ White River Water Treatment Plant via an upstream water intake, contributes to a healthy fish population, and partially restores Lake Indy, a popular recreational amenity for the Riverside community for more than 100 years.

PERL: Mobile Water Source Makes Its Debut

In 2014, an environmentally conscious member of the community approached Citizens Energy Group with a challenge: What could we (aka “The Water Company”) do about all the bottled water, and thus recyclables, that local event organizers inevitably invite into their venues for participants to enjoy? That challenge was accepted. The research and development process and partnership that led to the creation of H2O to Go came together perfectly. The overarching goal of the project was to create a mobile water source that could be used to educate the public on topics of water conservation and sustainability, and support Citizens’ philanthropic efforts.

Mining on DigIndy Tunnel System More than Halfway Complete

The DigIndy Tunnel System project reached a significant milestone on Wednesday, April 10 when the tunnel boring machine (TBM) completed mining the Lower Pogues Run and White River Tunnels. Employees from Citizens and several tunnel contractors watched as the TBM made its way through the retrieval shaft wall, cutting an impressive figure into the bedrock.
