Congratulations, Tye Baker. You're a Healthy Citizen!
Tye Baker is a most deserving recipient of the Healthy Citizen Award! Tye exemplifies what it means to be a Healthy Citizen by prioritizing his health utilizing Citizen’s Diabetes Program, while also inspiring his colleagues to do the same.
Tye has made meaningful changes to his eating habits by decreasing portions at restaurants, incorporating more fruits and vegetables, and reducing his meat intake. As a result, he has lowered his blood sugars and has lost a significant amount of weight, both of which has made life even more worth living.
Tye has not only made strides in his own health, but inspires others by sharing his story, encourages coworkers to participate in Citizens’ Diabetes Program, and is a co-captain for the Underground Engineering & Construction team for the ADA Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes happening on September 13th of this year. Tye has also been a strong advocate in our communities and has been asked to speak at several events to share his journey from pre-diabetes to today, and how “Citizens Energy Group and Northwind are a very large part” of his success.
Citizens Diabetes Program supports employees and families with pre-diabetes and diabetes to achieve their best health. Those enrolled in the program are provided with medications and supplies. For more information, you can reach out to Melissa Hehmann or call 317.522.1637.
